Media Format: Facebook Single Image Ad

The Single Image Ad on Facebook is typically delivered on someone’s timeline like in the example above.

Elements:

Body Text

Maximum length of 250 characters. The body copy is the first thing shown to a user. Its primary use should be seen as a method to communicate the primary message. After a user is enticed by the large image in the post, they will typically scan this block of copy.

Image

Required. Facebook will accept many different sizes, but my preference is to use a square image when possible.

The image may also include graphical text / typography embedded in the image itself, but it can’t be overwhelming. Facebook recommends 20% of the image or less be text.

Max length is 40 characters. A headline typically includes the brand name or the

Optional. Show directly below the headline. A good place to put an offer like “Free Shipping on All Orders Over $50!”
